Tim passed away peacefully at age 70 with family and friends by his side. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Earl and Marian Kardatzke. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jan, along with his daughter Jennifer Conroy, son-in-law Tom Conroy and granddaughters Kallie Storm and Molly Ray. Tim is also survived by his sister Susan Wolfe, niece Lisa Wolfe North and nephew Jamie Wolfe. Tim graduated from Maumee High School in Maumee, Ohio. He and Jan graduated together from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. They were married in Prout Chapel on the Bowling Green campus on a very hot day in June 1971. In 1983 Tim, Jan and Jennifer packed up the U-Haul and moved from Toledo, Ohio to Broomfield, Colorado. Tim’s legacy is all the lives he touched and nurtured through his years of teaching, coaching, baseball umpiring, volleyball officiating and especially his work with Boy Scout Troop #337 in Broomfield. His loves were family, friends, travel, and the mountains. We can honor him by living each day to the fullest and caring for others as he did. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Broomfield United Methodist Church on Wednesday evening, Sept. 12 at 6:30. All are invited to stay afterwards for refreshments. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tim can be made to Boy Scout Troop #337 through Broomfield United Methodist Church. These donations will go into the Tim Kardatzke Boy Scout High Adventure Scholarship Fund.
