Troop 337 Historian Report – September 2025
September 2nd – Troop Court of Honor
Troop 337 families celebrated the most recent Court of Honor by getting together in the church and giving out awards, merit badges, and the fobs that the scouts earned. Afterwards, we all got together to have snacks which were brought by the scouts.
At this court of honor, we held a cooking oil drive where scouts brought cooking oil to help out Broomfield FISH! And to make it fun, we turned it into a competition where the patrol that donated the most cooking oil got a fob! Altogether, the troop donated 266 pounds of cooking oil to Broomfield FISH!
During the meeting, the following leaders were recognized, and awards were handed out:

There were too many fobs to mention! :)
September 5th – 7th Campout & ISLT Training, Camp Tumbleson Lake
The Fall ILST training was held during our September Campout. It was a training event which was mandatory for all scouts that were elected to the Fall 2025/Winter 2026 PLC. This was optional to any members of previous PLCs who were unable to attend training. While the scouts that are on PLC were at ILST, other scouts worked on requirements and played games at the campsite. Hank took a group of scouts hiking around the lake.
Also, the scouts got together to perform a conservation project that included cleaning up a section of a stream, spreading red rock, cleaning out a water drain, and cleaning out the pavilion, which had been flooded due to the clogged drain. Everyone worked together as a team, and the YMCA was very happy with our project.

September 9th – Troop Meeting
This week we hosted patrol meetings, reviewed color guard specifics, practiced stacking chairs, and Bowen Richards led a presentation – using the EDGE method – on how to start a fire.
September 20th – Broomfield Days Bike Corral Service Project
Broomfield Days is the biggest event of the year in our city, and this was a great opportunity for us to serve the community and represent Troop 337 with pride. We made sure we showed up ready to help and demonstrated the Scout spirit. During the Bike Corral, the scouts led a station where people could store their bikes so that they could have fun at the Broomfield Days event without having to constantly carry around their bikes.

September 23rd – Troop Meeting
For this meeting, we had an axe yard, fireman’s chit, human knot, brown sea island, and a T337 branding iron. Scouts were able to choose where they went as long as that area was not full. We also had a Dutch Oven cooking contest between Felix and Lance, which all the scouts got the chance to be the judges. At the end of the meeting, the troop sang Happy Birthday to Hank.
September 30th – End of Summer BBQ, Patrol Activity Night, and Parent Meeting
The BBQ was held at the REACH Church. The BBQ main course, sides, and beverages were provided by Troop 337. Families brought desserts to have after the main course. The Patrols played outdoor games while the parents got together to discuss the scouting program. Everybody had a great time!
