Troop 337 Historian Report – February 2026
Troop 337 Historian Report – February 2026
February 3 – Troop Meeting
For the first activity, Scouts were presented with imaginary meals with
something in the instructions that did not belong there. All of these
false instructions were fun, nonrealistic instructions like “stir until it
becomes invisible”. The second activity was meal planning for Klondike.
Scouts who were going on the campout planned meals for the camping
trip. The third activity was a lesson on the proper use of a Dutch oven
as well as how elevation affects cooking with coals. Xander kindly
taught scouts how to use a Dutch oven, and then afterwards he also
gave them nachos that he cooked using the Dutch oven.
February 6–8 – Klondike campout – Reverend’s Ridge
This cold weather campout (real feel was down to 12°f), on planet
Hoth, also known as Reverend’s Ridge, was a ton of fun. Troop 337
earned 3rd Place in the Sled Parade! Traditionally, at this campout
Scouts hold a sled race. This time, there was no snow, so they could not
do a sled race. But, the Scouts got creative and found a way to hold the
sled race anyway. Troop 337 showed some great teamwork at the
Imperial Stations including Light Saber hockey and a Kessel Run.

February 17 – PLC meeting
Every month, the Troop holds a PLC meeting where Scouts who are on the PLC plan meetings for the coming month.
February 21 – Service Project – Kohl Street Cleanup
If you don’t already know, the Troop has adopted Kohl Street, which means that it is our responsibility to take care of this street. This means that every now and then, Scouts go through and pick up trash and other junk along the sidewalks of this street and help maintain its cleanliness.
February 24 – Troop Meeting
At this meeting, we received a visit from a lot of AOLs looking for a Troop. They all loved mint chocolate chip ice cream, so we are hopeful that they will join us! They got to watch us organize Patrol Boxes, and then they got to participate in a game with the patrol boxes. This was a fun game where the leader called out an item and the first patrol to find that item in their patrol box won that round. The AOL’s showed they will be great members of our Troop by winning this contest!

February 28 – Service Project – Xander Hawkins Eagle Project – BUMC grounds
This Eagle project really stood out to me because of how organized and prepared Xander was. He recruited some of his friends from Legacy High School along with Scouts, and we finished the project way faster than planned. He was also kind enough to provide food and drinks for the people that helped with the project, and he hosted a party in his (amazing) garage afterwards where they served burgers and drinks. Thank you to everyone that helped with this project!

February 28 – Eli H. – My Final Report As Troop 337’s Historian
In closing, this is my final report as Troop 337’s Historian. I have felt very honored in being able to record every event in the Troop for the past 18 months. I feel inspired by all of the accomplishments of the Troop and Scouts. It has been a privilege to serve in this leadership role for so long. I wish Bowen the greatest success as he takes over this role.
