Troop 337 Historian Report – January 2026

January 2 – Broomfield FISH

If you don’t already know, our Troop has adopted the cooking oil shelf at Broomfield FISH. That means that by donating oil to FISH, we help restock the cooking oil shelf that they have. Usually, all the cooking oil runs out with in just 24 hours. That means it is REALLY important to donate, because cooking oil is very important. At this specific project, we helped the staff members sort out different types of foods, and we also helped the staff stock the shelves.

January 6 – Troop Meeting – Meal Planning and Skits

At this meeting, Scouts that were going on the coming campout planned meals for their patrols, and Scouts that were not going participated in a contest for who made the best skit. The winners were Felix, Elijah, Bowen, and Bear.

January 10 – Dylan Morrell Eagle Court of Honor

Congratulations to Troop 337’s newest Eagle Scout, Dylan Morrell! He had a very nice ceremony, and the Troop had an opportunity to celebrate his accomplishments.

January 9-11 Camp Alexander Campout and Ice Climbing

It is an annual tradition to go to Camp Alexander and do both day and night ice climbing. Everybody really appreciates and enjoys this event.

January 13 – Troop Meeting – Requirements Night

This meeting was an opportunity for Scouts to complete requirements for rank. This is something the Troop members really appreciate because it gives them a chance to advance toward the next rank.

January 20 – PLC Meeting

Once a month, the Patrol Leaders Counsel gets together to plan the coming meetings. Many of the things we discussed this night were about the Troops 70th anniversary.

January 25 – Conservation Project

At this Service Project, the Troop helped the City of Thornton mulch a bunch of trees for a conservation project. Mulching trees helps the trees maintain long term health. Scouts were offered to stop the project halfway but decided to continue through the snow in single digit temperatures.

January 27 – Troop Meeting – Assembling New Patrol Boxes; Fixing Sled for Klondike; Conversion to Family Troop Meeting

At this meeting, we assembled the new Patrol Boxes that were kindly donated by Mr. Singh. While this was happening, some Scouts that were not assembling the Patrol Boxes helped fix the sled that the Troop was going to use at Klondike. At the beginning of the meeting, the troop had a conversation about becoming a Family Troop, which means that the Troop will also be open to girls.
