September 27th – 29th, 2024– September Monthly Campout.

Colorado Jamboree at Peaceful Valley
We arrived at Peaceful Valley late at night, and set up camp in the dark! That was really tough,
but we figured it out. We enjoyed Cracker Barrel on the first night, and the best part was that it
was also late at night, and we got to have something to eat. On the second day, there were a
lot of different activities and, you could choose what you wanted to do. There was an obstacle
course set up on the lake, shooting sports, a trading post, vendors, games, and more. The
theme was light the fire. There was around 2,500 scouts there, and it was a lot of fun! The
obstacle course was in the middle of a very cold lake, and we had to swim a long way to get
there! There was a concert at night, and there were glow sticks to light up the night. On the
third day, we packed up camp, and headed home. The air conditioning of our homes felt really
good after camp! One thing we learned was that you should not spend all your time on one
thing, you should try different things!

September 10, 2024: Troop Meeting.
The Banana Ducks patrol did first aid requirements, and the older scouts played capture the
flag. We would have done Dutch ovens, but it was too windy to teach how to cook. One of the
ASM’s made cookies in the dutch oven. This was the first troop meeting under the new PLC.

September 13-15, 2024: ILST Campout.
Camp Tahosa (now Camp Lake Tumblesome). This training was required for the Troop’s Patrol
Leader Council (PLC) and also available for former members of the PLC who were unable to
attend last spring. The PLC consists of the Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader, Patrol Leaders, Troop Guide, Quartermaster, Community Outreach, Scribe, Historian,
and Chaplain Aide. Unfortunately, the SPL was sick, so it was just a normal campout. We went
fishing at Lake Tumblesome. We could not find the ranger, so we could not use the boats.
However, we went on a hike.

September 21st, 2024 – Broomfield Days Bike Corral Service Project.
Each year, the City of Broomfield puts on a community-wide event that features vendors, a
parade, a car show, and plenty of activities. Attendees can ride their bikes to Broomfield Days,
and Troop 337 watched bikes while the cyclists went to have fun. We gathered tips for our
cooking oil shelf at Broomfield Fish, and we worked with the Broomfield police to make sure
that everybody got their correct bikes at the end of their stay.

September 24th, 2024 – Troop Meeting:
We were doing meal planning for the coming campout, the Colorado Jamboree. We were
assigned to special patrols for this campout.
